07 Sokuu Blue Hand-Thrown Serving Bowl

Sokuu’s clear, radiant blue brings a vivid and refreshing accent to the table. Its distinctive glaze reflects a historic color tradition said to have traveled from ancient Persia to Japan along the Silk Road.

Hand-thrown on the potter’s wheel, this generously sized bowl is designed for celebratory occasions while remaining highly versatile for everyday use. Its open form makes it ideal for pasta, salads, simmered dishes, and a wide variety of other cuisines.

In Japan, a large bowl is also associated with the expression “a person of great capacity,” symbolizing generosity and broad-mindedness. For this reason, large serving bowls are considered especially auspicious gifts for weddings and other celebrations.

Combining this meaningful symbolism with traditional craftsmanship, this one-of-a-kind NINSHU piece brings both beauty and a sense of occasion to the table.
