18 NINSHU Ao – Uji Matcha from Kyoto

NINSHU, a Kyoto pottery studio with a long-standing relationship with Ninna-ji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, presents a Kyoto-grown Uji matcha carefully selected to be enjoyed with both Japan’s soft water and the harder water commonly found overseas.

Ao is characterized by its rich body, pleasant bitterness, and deep, full flavor. Whether prepared with soft or hard water, it retains the distinctive character and depth that define an authentic matcha experience.

Made from first-harvest tea leaves carefully cultivated in Wazuka and Uji, two of Kyoto’s renowned tea-growing regions, the leaves are exclusively blended by NINSHU to create a rich and satisfying expression of Uji matcha.
