This plate has a distinctive patterned lacquer finish on the front and can also be used to place small items. The design embodies the snowy scenery created by the contrast between the white of Yamanaka Onsen and the river. It is painted on both sides with a white and blue gradation and a contrasting paint finish that gives the impression of sunlight shining on the river and snow falling.
